Cataract Surgery with Intraocular Lens Implantation
This is a highly effective procedure aimed at restoring vision limited by a cataract, which is a cloudy lens. During surgery, the cataract is removed and replaced with a clear intraocular lens (IOL). The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and is regarded as one of the safest and most commonly performed surgeries. Patients can anticipate improved vision and a short recovery. Dr. Bader and his team are dedicated to providing personalized care and guiding patients through every step of the process to ensure optimal outcomes and enhanced quality of life.
Advanced Technology Intraocular Lenses
Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL): Unlike traditional IOLs used in cataract surgery, which only correct nearsightedness or farsightedness, toric IOLs are also designed to correct astigmatism, a common refractive error. Toric IOLs provide the advantage of addressing both cataracts and astigmatism to improve clarity.
Multi-focal Intraocular Lens (IOL): Unlike traditional IOLs, which primarily focus on correcting distance vision, multifocal IOLs are designed to provide clear vision for both near and distance tasks. Patients who are candidates can reduce their dependence on glasses for activities such as reading, using a computer, and driving.
Glaucoma Evaluation & Treatment
Glaucoma is a disease characterized by damage to the optic nerve and caused by elevated eye pressure. If left untreated, glaucoma can lead to irreversible vision loss, typically starting with peripheral vision and progressing to centrally. Early detection is key to minimize vision loss from glaucoma. Treatment involves eye drops, laser therapy, or surgery to lower intraocular pressure and preserve vision.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
A comprehensive eye exam is a thorough evaluation of your eye health. Your eyes will be checked for refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Bader will also look for diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, allowing for early intervention to preserve your vision. Regular exams are essential for maintaining optimal eye health.
Evaluation of Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is a common eye condition that causes damage to the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp vision. As the disease progresses, it can lead to blurriness or dark spots in the center of your vision, making it difficult to read, drive, or recognize faces. While there is no cure for macular degeneration, early detection and treatment can help slow its progression and preserve remaining vision.
Urgent Eye Care
Urgent eye care refers to situations requiring immediate attention to address sudden or severe eye-related issues. These may include eye injuries, sudden vision changes, eye infections, or sudden onset of symptoms like pain, redness, or flashes of light.
Seeking prompt evaluation is crucial to prevent further complications and preserve eye health and vision.
